There’ll be a World War II-themed underground horror experience at Fort Canning from end-September

Horror junkies in Singapore are set to be spoiled this Halloween season. In addition to Universal Studios Singapore’s upcoming Halloween Horror Nights 2024, there’ll also be a one-of-a-kind experiential horror event happening at Fort Canning from Sep 25 to Nov 3.
Titled Underground: The Summoning, the event is touted as “Singapore’s largest immersive horror experience” and will fully take place underground in the historic Battlebox World War II bunker underneath Fort Canning.
The story is set in 1942 and is described as such: “With the impending invasion of Japanese forces, the British army officers, in desperation, turn to an ancient book of summoning for help. However, they unleash chaos instead as Bellum, the demon lord of war, and his minions overrun the bunker.”
Small groups of around nine people will traverse the 12,000 sq ft bunker, making their way through different rooms and zones, to defeat Bellum and his minions.
The event will feature live theatrical performances, special effects and interactive segments. Be advised that it may not be suitable for children under the age of 13.
Each session will take up to 45 minutes, with prices starting at S$63. From now until Sep 1, you can enjoy an early-bird discount of 15 per cent. Tickets can be purchased at this website.
Said Jonathan Lim, writer and director of Underground: The Summoning: “The location of the experience was of paramount importance to us, because we wanted a venue that could live up to the realism that we wanted to convey.”
More information can be found on the official website of Underground: The Summoning.
